AMT technology to demonstrate functionality of Fujitsu’s Enterprise Mobility Services in U.S.

LOS ANGELES Feb. 24, 2003 AMT’s Flightman™ solution is to be demonstrated at the upcoming Gartner Inc.’s “Wireless Access, Mobile Business Solutions” conference in Los Angeles in association with its close partners at Fujitsu Consulting.

At the conference the global consulting services arm of the Fujitsu group, will be announcing the immediate availability in the U.S. of its Enterprise Mobility offering, its full lifecycle solution for companies seeking to enhance their business processes and reap productivity gains through the strategic use of cutting-edge wireless technology.

Together with Fujitsu, AMT has implemented the first secure wireless device for transmitting aircraft technical and operations data to and from an aircraft via XML technology and portable computing devices. This mobility solution – Flightman™ allows pilots, cabin crew and ground engineers to capture and utilize operational information more efficiently, leading to improved cockpit safety procedures and eliminating the inefficiencies of paper logs. This has resulted in proven cost savings of over US$100,000 per aircraft annually and is being successfully implemented in, amongst others, DHL and Virgin Express.

Through its synchronised modules FlightmanTM is the complete solution for electronic data capture and management in the field of flight operations and maintenance, covering business processes, technical documentation, fuel and vendor management, onboard sales and flight plates. In short, FlightmanTM allows pilots, cabin crew and ground engineers to capture and utilise operational information more efficiently, thereby eliminating the inefficiencies of paper logs.

Commenting on the work that AMT and Fujitsu have done together Mr. Bernard Hensey, CEO of AMT commented that: “As a partner Fujitsu gives AMT access to top of the range mobility technologies as well as informed and trusted expert advice. We have found great synergy with Fujitsu Consulting in delivering mobile solutions to clients because we are both singularly focused on bringing the maximum ROI to our customers as quickly as possible. We look forward to expanding our collaboration with Fujitsu to bring wireless aviation solutions such as AMT’s Flightman™ to clients worldwide.”

“Our clients in the U.S. will now be able to benefit from our experience in designing, building and implementing mobile solutions that will not only provide productivity on the move but also enhance the very way companies conduct business,” said Michael J. Poehner, President & CEO of Fujitsu Consulting.
