Electronic Voyage Log
The Electronic Voyage Log is an electronic version of existing paper forms carried on a commercial aircraft. It can be used on any portable computer (tablet, laptop etc) as well as aircraft-mounted computers. Forms can include Crew Assignment, Takeoff and Landing Data, Aircraft Hours and Cycles, Schedule Delays, Vendor Services, Oil and Hydraulic Fluid data, Engine Cruise Log data and De-Icing information. The solution is flexible and can be adapted to an airline’s specific workflow and forms.
This solution can also encompass Fuel Management. Fuel Management helps the flight crew to plan for their fuel requirements based on the airline’s flight plan fuel. It allows flight crew to calculate fuel requirements and uplifts as well as automatically performing conversions from KGs, LBs to Lts, Gals etc.
Pilots’ compliance with the airline’s fuel plan can be measured over time and built-in gross error checking helps eliminate erroneous entries and increase accuracy. All fuel records will be held on the server and populated into relevant airline systems and records can be stored by vendor allowing for easy fuel management reconciliation. Fuel consumption can also be reported and analysed by aircraft, flight number, flight crew, etc.
eTechlog™
eTechlog™ is an electronic version of the current paper-based techlog held aboard an aircraft that allows an airline to efficiently manage defects within its fleet. The solution is fully configurable to match the airline’s own workflow and forms. eTechlog™ is configurable to any aircraft type and provides a standard user interface across a mixed fleet. It has a flexible workflow and forms to suit airline specific workflow with pre-populated aircraft warning messages for quick defect reporting. It allows you to drill down to component level on defect description to give the engineer a clearer picture of the defect. MEL expiry items are automatically tracked both on the server and on the aircraft, allowing an airline to clear MEL items more efficiently.
Performance, Weight & Balance Calculations
Flightman™ allows the onboard calculation from first principles of aircraft Weight and Balance and Performance Calculations. The current paper process requires interpolation which provides a conservative result and reduces benefits. Flightman™ gives more accurate thrust settings and reduced fuel consumption. Accurate calculations and exact results improve the calculated Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW). Flight crew can pre-calculate for all desired runways and intersections at a specific airport. In the case of a runway change, there is no need for recalculation, ensuring a more timely departure. Flightman™ also enables entry and management of NOTAM and MEL restrictions.
Content Distribution
The Flightman™ Content Distribution Solution provides for the management of and access to multiple data content types within the solution. Content can be filtered and retrieved as required. An extensible framework supporting the inclusion of multiple data viewers is provided. A mechanism is also provided to support the configuration management of the Electronic Flight Bag’s data and software versions.
Mechanic’s Workbench
The Mechanic’s Workbench provides an example portal which allows the authorized users to effectively manage defects on the airline’s fleet. Similar in functionality to the eTechlog™, the purpose of the Workbench is to provide a fully connected, ground based portal for airline maintenance engineers.
