Atlas Air, Inc. the world’s largest operator of 747 freighter aircraft, selects Aircraft Management Technologies’ Flightman™ for Electronic Flight Bag Software Solution

Award winning EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) software provider, Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT) today announced a contract with Atlas Air, Inc., an operating unit of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of global outsourced aircraft services based in Purchase, New York. This agreement will achieve cost savings and operational improvements through the deployment of AMT’s Flightman™ suite of EFB applications.

Under the FAA’s Capstone 3 program, Atlas Air’s goal is optimize their crew’s access to real-time knowledge, maximize on ground safety, and move towards a paperless cockpit environment across their fleet of B747-400 aircraft. AMT will provide an EFB solution that brings together the full functionality of the Flightman™ software platform, incorporating eJourney Log, Large Content Manager and eForms applications. It will be fully integrated with the Jeppesen Airport Moving Map application and will provide Atlas Air with a common user experience across all EFB applications. The Flightman™ solution will enable the management and control of content distribution to the EFBs in a cost effective, efficient and compliant manner. Furthermore the solution will allow pilots to record data on the EFBs and position them to exchange pre-flight and post-flight data with the airline’s back-office systems directly from the cockpit.

“As an active participant in the FAA Capstone program it was imperative that Atlas Air select a best in class solution for the management of data on and off the EFB. In addition the Flightman™ modular approach means we can incrementally deploy additional functionality on the EFB as our business requirements grow. ” said, Jeff Carlson, VP Flight Operations, Atlas Air, Inc.

“We are excited to begin the EFB software implementation with Atlas Air and believe that the Flightman™ solution will facilitate the streamlining of existing operational processes with Atlas Air” said Joe McGoldrick, Chief Executive, AMT.
