AMT and Thomson Airways sign EFB software deal

Award winning aviation industry software provider, Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT) and Thomson Airways today announced the commencement of a Class II Electronic Flight Bag Pilot Trial on their Airbus A-321 aircraft.

Thomson Airways selected AMT’s Flightman™ Electronic Flight Bag software to deliver improved operational efficiency within Flight Operations. Thomson Airways are flying with Flightman™ installed on Teledyne Class II EFB devices. The core set of applications includes Electronic Flight Folder, Journey Log, Performance Calculations, Weight & Balance, Charts and Large Content Management. This solution aims to remove paper from the cockpit and enable flight crew to access electronic versions of Flight Plans, Weather data, NOTAMS, Journey Logs, Charts and Manuals directly from the cockpit.

“Flightman™ enables us to operate all aspects of onboard applications in a cost effective manner and as a result we believe that an EFB Class II solution will generate significant savings within our Flight Operations department” said Sailesh Chauhan, Project Manager EFB & Document Management Systems, Thomson Airways.

“More and more airlines are realizing that pilot trials are a very cost effective means of  proving the value of EFB technology within the cockpit and I believe this is key before embarking on a broader EFB project” said Aidan Gallagher, Chairman, AMT.

AMT has won several awards for its state-of-the-art technology and has continued to expand its operations in the international aviation industry. AMT now boasts an impressive customer portfolio of charter and commercial airlines.
