ATLAS AIR, INC. THE WORLD’S LARGEST OPERATOR OF 747 FREIGHTER AIRCRAFT, SELECTS FLIGHTMAN™ FOR ELECTRONIC FLIGHT BAG SOFTWARE SOLUTION

Award winning EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) software provider, Flightman, today announced a contract with Atlas Air, Inc., an operating unit of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of global outsourced aircraft services based in Purchase, New York. This agreement will achieve cost savings and operational improvements through the deployment of the Flightman™ suite of EFB applications.

Under the FAA’s Capstone 3 program, Atlas Air’s goal is optimize their crew’s access to real-time knowledge, maximize on ground safety, and move towards a paperless cockpit environment across their fleet of B747-400 aircraft. Flightman will provide an EFB solution that brings together the full functionality of the Flightman™ software platform, incorporating eJourney Log, Large Content Manager and eForms applications. It will be fully integrated with the Jeppesen Airport Moving Map application and will provide Atlas Air with a common user experience across all EFB applications. The Flightman™ solution will enable the management and control of content distribution to the EFBs in a cost effective, efficient and compliant manner. Furthermore the solution will allow pilots to record data on the EFBs and position them to exchange pre-flight and post-flight data with the airline’s back-office systems directly from the cockpit.

FLIGHTMAN INTEGRATES WITH JEPPESEN EFB TO PROVIDE ENHANCED EFB SUITE

In response to customer demand, Flightman now offers an enhanced suite of onboard applications spanning charting, eLogs and electronic flight briefing. By leveraging Jeppesen’s open architecture and licensed Software Development Kit (SDK), Flightman can now provide a consistent user interface that is fully compatible with Jeppesen’s EFB.

Jeppesen is the acknowledged leader of navigational information and serves a customer base that includes the world’s leading airlines. With the rapidly increasing adoption of EFB technology, Flightman wanted to develop a product that would meet customer requirements for compatibility with Jeppesen’s EFB solution suite.

The Flightman™ solution is recognized as a leading software platform for enabling the “connected aircraft” and has delivered proven return on investment for airlines globally. Flightman has worked with in excess of 15 leading aviation organizations in the specification, design and delivery of best in class EFB solutions. Many of these organizations are also users of Jeppesen onboard applications.

NEOS SELECTS FLIGHTMAN FOR FLEET WIDE EFB IMPLEMENTATION

Flightman and NEOS have signed a contract to equip the Italian’s carrier’s fleet with the Flightman™ EFB solution. NEOS selected Flightman™ software to deliver improved operational efficiencies, higher data quality and streamlined documentation management. The Flightman™ solution is to be deployed across the NEOS fleet of Boeing 737 and 767 aircraft, and is a major step towards a fully paperless operation.

Flightman™ is a platform containing a set of onboard applications that will connect NEOS’ aircraft directly to the airline’s backend systems using 3G and wireless communications technologies, thus creating more efficient processes and achieving dramatic cost savings. The solution will be integrated with AMOS and TUI performance tool. NEOS selected the Flightman™ eJourney Log, eTech log, Weight & Balance, Large Content Management and Document Viewer modules. This solution allows integration of critical processes on the flight deck and replaces paper forms used to manage NEOS’ aircraft.
